The report of the demise of the long-staying Whooper premature (1 Viewer)

Happy to report that the injured Whooper is actually still alive. It's been here in south Cumbria for what is now its fourth Winter.
It disappeared off the radar for a few of weeks, which is unusual. It can't fly and has tended to waddle around the same bit of marsh land by the River Kent since it arrived.
Lo and behold, I saw it again at the weekend back in its usual spot. It's unmistakable, with the same drooping damaged left wing.
No idea where it was hiding but its good news indeed.
