Tree or Meadow Pipit? [Aix-en-Provence, France] (1 Viewer)

Hi all. I spotted him in a forested area beside a reservoir. It isn't the type of place I would expect a meadow pipit. (Although, based on the bill, I'm leading towards meadow.) I wish I got a sound recording, but no luck. Thanks for any ID suggestions!
