Hi all

I have an estuary adjacent to where I work in winter we have a fair number of curlew, redshank, peewits and a range of ducks etc. However since spring time, April, Mayish not one in sight.

Does anyone know why the birds would leave the area and completely?

TIA

Hello,

the answer from Butty surely summarize/covers the main reasons, but a question:
if I understand you correct, than there is not one single bird left/no sighting of the mentioned species since end of may? If yes, than this (an estuary in summer with no waders and no ducks) is unusual imo.

If you name the estuary, maybe someone can say more?
