Which tripod for large scope? (1 Viewer)

We have a Celestron Ultima 100 scope which is a bit on the larger side at 2kg.

Tripods are a minefield. Does anyone have any recommendations for the portlier scopes?

If it makes a difference, the scope has a large offset bracket to shift the centre of weight. It would be good if the trip could handle this offset.

Budget <£200 (UK based!) but could stretch if needed.

Some of my optics are in the 3-4kg domain and were “OK” on a manfrotto 190, but I recently got a Innorel RT90C which is super solid and probably overkill even for me. I’d look for a secondhand manfrotto 055 or the smaller versions of my Innorel. Are you looking for a head as well as the tripod??

Thanks for the reply. Yes - looking for both. I hadn't heard of Innorel before but will take a look.

I have the manfrotto mv500ah head that is big and can handle quite big optics, would also absorb a good fraction of your budget. There are smaller heads, think there are some Innorel ones or sirui. You may need to stretch your budget a little as having too flimsy a tripod or head is no fun.
Are you using just the stick zoom on the ultimate or any other Astro eyepieces?

Moderators please do something as The BulbMogul doesn't even read what the OP is asking and what is the budget, he just posts pictures of his expensive gear (many times without any text, or at best, see above...) in every thread and if you ask him the properties of these equipment or how they perform on the field, he doesn't know much of them.

Regards, Juhani
