Sorry about the blurry phone pictures. I'm thinking my bird looks good for Carolina Wren. Anything else I should consider?

Thanks,

Brian

That very strong white eye-stripe limits your choices, though your camera may be exaggerating the contrast a bit.

Your two most likely wrens would be House (very weak eye-stripe) and Carolina (very strong eye-stripe). In Michigan you should also consider Marsh (also pretty strong eye-stripe), especially if your fence is alongside a... you guessed it, marsh.
Carolina wren usually has an overall chestnut, almost reddish tone. Your photos look a little darker, especially in the cap, which causes me some uncertainty - I'm tempted to say it's Marsh based on that. But again, I'm pretty sure your camera is boosting the contrast, so I don't have much confidence in that color.

edit: where in Michigan? I looked a little more closely at the map, and Carolina is somewhat uncommon in most of the state. That tilts me heavily toward Marsh, unless you live near the "wrist" of Michigan.

Thanks for the information! I'm in SW Michigan. Kalamazoo. My Merlin app is telling me CW is more common than MW. I feel like I did notice fairly buff breast but I'm not really sure. I appreciate you taking the time to help.... it really helps
