Identification
12.5–14 cm. Buff underparts, brown streaked throat and breast, dark brownish head and upperparts, lighter eyestripe and chin.
Distribution
Swaziland, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
Taxonomy
There are 6 subspecies.
Habitat
Dry savanna and dry open forest.
Behaviour
The diet includes insects.
It builds cup nest from grass and lined rootlets; 2-3 eggs are laid.
