Distribution

Yucatán Peninsula and Cozumel Island (Mexico), Belize, and Honduras.

Taxonomy

There are three subspecies.1

  • M. p. rubricomus
    • Yucatán Peninsula to central Belize
  • M. p. pygmaeus
    • Cozumel Island
  • M. p. tysoni
    • Guanaja Island

Habitat

Dry forests and shrubland.
