Male - 190-239 cm
- Blackish-brown
- White speckled markings
- Erect white crest on the rear crown
- Blue skin around eyes

Female - 74-75 cm
- Brown, black and buff bars and spots
- Paler underparts
- Shorter crest and tail
Distribution
South-east Asia: found in central Vietnam and eastern Laos.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly included in Crested Argus together with Malayan Crested Argus.
Habitat
Humid forests.
Behaviour
Diet
The diet includes fruit, leaves, insects and small animals.
