Identification

13.5 - 14 cm. A medium-sized finch.

  • Black head
  • Large conical bill brown to brownish-pink
  • Yellow throat and yellow collar
  • Black wings with yellow wing-flash
  • Blackish-olive upperparts, deep olive rump and uppertail-coverts with variable amount of bright yellow
  • Black notched tail, outer feathers edged bright yellow

Distribution
