Identification
12.5-14 cm (5-5½ in); Pinkish conical bill
- Dark head

Distribution
Asia: China, Tibet, India, Eastern Himalayas
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- C. a. taylori:
- Mountains of south-eastern Tibet and extreme western Sichuan
- C. a. ambigua:
Habitat
Deciduous woodland, open coniferous forests and forest edges.
Behaviour
Diet
They forage in pairs and small groups, on the ground and in low bushes. They eat a variety of seeds.
Breeding
There is very little known. They build a neat cup nest on a pine tree branch . They lay three to four eggs
