Tarsiger indicus

Identification

15cm. Blue grey face and mantle, yellow olive crown, long white supercilium, black bill, brown legs, orange throat, breast and flanks, white belly. Female - grey brown above, white eye ring and supercilium, orange buff below, white belly.

Distribution

Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

Taxonomy

Habitat

Dense undergrowth of mixed broadleaf and conifers at high elevations.

Behaviour

A cup shaped nest is placed in a hollow bank; 3-4 eggs are laid.

The diet includes insects.
