Identification

- Black above
- Yellow buff underparts with black streaks
- Red vent
- Large white scapular patches
- White barred flight feathers and tail sides
- Yellow sides to the neck
- White cheeks
- Long black moustachial stripe
- Male has red nape patch
- Long bill
Distribution
Asia: found in the Himalayas of Nepal to Szechwan and northern Myanmar, Bhutan, south-western China, north-eastern India, and Vietnam.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
