Identification

32-43cm.

Distribution

Australasia: found in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

Taxonomy

Subspecies[1]

There are 2 subspecies:

  • A. m. melanochlamys:
  • A. m. schistacinus:
  • Montane forests of central and eastern New Guinea

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.

Behaviour

Diet

It's diet consists of birds, small mammals, frogs, and insects.
