Identification
10 cm
- Very light plumage
- Brown flank barring
Distribution
South America: found in the western Andes of Peru (southern Cajamarca to Ancash)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
This taxon is considered a subspecies of Brown-rumped Tapaculo (sensu lato) by some authors[2]
Habitat
High-altitude grassland and rocky areas.
Behaviour
They glean insects by foraging on the ground in rocks and grassy tussocks.
