Identification

Adult - black bill, black orbital ring.

Juvenile - yellow bill, yellow orbital ring.

Distribution

Belize, Guatemala, and southern Mexico.

Taxonomy

There are two recognized subspecies.1

  • C. y. yucatanicus
  • C. y. rivularis
    • Tabasco and southwestern Campeche, southeastern Mexico

Habitat

Dry forests.

Behaviour

They are cooperative breeders.
