Nubian Nightjars in Israel

Once a locally common breeder along the rift valley, now this enigmatic nightjar is classified as critically endangered in Israel, though in neighboring Jordan its' population might be in a better situation. Currently there are about 20 pairs known in Israel, all in the southern Dead Sea region. They are best seen between March and August.
