Eastern Africa: found in Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species^[1].

Subspecies neumanni is not generally recognised^[2].

Habitat

Semi-arid acacia bush and gardens.
