Five subspecies recognized.
Sometimes Bradornis pumilus is split from this species, called Little Grey Flycatcher, Ethiopian Flycatcher or Small Grey Flycatcher.

Habitat

Dry country.

Behaviour

It is generally to be found in pairs or small family groups.
