Arid northwestern Africa to Red Sea and southwestern Arabia.

  • A. a. lynesi - Probably extinct; W Morocco
  • A. a. stieberi - SW Mauritania and Senegambia to ne Sudan
  • A. a. butleri - S Sudan; single record for nw Kenya
  • A. a. arabs - Ethiopia to nw Somalia, sw Saudi Arabia and w Yemen
