Identification

23 cm

  • Sandy-brown crown and nape
  • Grey streaks on crown
  • Yellow coronal patch

Sexes similar.

Distribution

South America: found from arid south-western Ecuador to north-western Peru (Lima)

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Equatorial dry forest at ca. 70 m (230 ft) elevation.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of larger insects and fruit.
