Identification

50–61 cm

• Dark rufous back
• Olive-brown breast
• Chestnut-tipped rectrices

Distribution

Northern South America: found only in Colombia and Venezuela.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 3 subspecies^[1]:

• P. a. albicauda :

• Sierra de Perijá (Colombia/ Venezuela border)

• P. a. colombiana:

• Santa Marta Mountains (north-eastern Colombia)

• P. a. argyrotis:

• Montane forests of northern Colombia and northern Venezuela

Habitat

Moist montanes.

Behaviour

Their diet consists mostly of fleshy fruits
