Tauraco bannermani

Identification

43cm

  • Grey face
  • Pale, golden-green neck and breast
  • Dark green upper parts
  • Belly, undertail coverts and rump blackish washed green
  • Purple blue uppertail coverts and tail
  • Bright crimson wing patches
  • Yellow bill with a dark red culmen and exposed nostrils.

Distribution

Western Africa: endemic to south-western Cameroon (Bamenda-Banso highlands)

Habitat

Crags and ravines in highland montane forests.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes fruit.

Breeding

It builds a twiggy platform concealed in trees or bushes among creepers. The two white eggs are incubated by both parents.
