Arborophila brunneopectus

Identification

26–29 cm (10¼-11½ in)

  • Barred back
  • Greyish-brown breast
  • Black and white spots on flanks

Distribution

Asia: found only in China
Southeast Asia: occurs in Indochina, Burma, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand

Taxonomy

It has has 3 subspecies[1]:

  • A. b. albigula:

Dry evergreen forests, forest edges and bamboo stands.

Behaviour

There is little information available on their behaviour.

Diet

They forage in leaf litter.
