Identification

13cm. Brown head, back black throat, brown eye, black bill and purple legs.

Distribution

Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Taxonomy

There are 5 subspecies.

Habitat

Arid scrub, savanna amd gardens.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes nvertebrates, fruit, seeds and nectar.

Breeding

Monogomous. They nest in trees and and shrubs and 2-6 green eggs are laid.
