Genus: Basilornis
Description
Three distinctive mynas from southeast Asia.
In all four species the feathers of the forehead, the crown and the nape form a rigid crest.
They share a mostly black plumage with some iridescence and some white patches. Most species are poorly known and not often seen.
Taxonomy
Basilornis is a genus in the family Sturnidae.
Apo Myna was formerly included here.
