Identification
11.5 cm
Mostly grey crown, greenish olive upperside including rump. Wings and tail dusky base color but edged yellow, and greater plus median coverts forming two yellow wing bars. Underside yellow with broad dusky markings on breast and flanks. Face has pale rear supercilium while the forward extension of this (going around the front) and eye-ring is cinnamon-rufous. Dusky markings around auriculars and whitish chin. Eye is dark brown, bill blackish and legs greyish.
Distribution
This species is found in South America in the eastern Andean foothills of central and south-eastern Peru and adjacent northern Bolivia.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Primary humid forest with tall canopy at 650 - 1550 m asl.
Behaviour
Described as an active species moving around while holding itself horizontal and sallying out for insects. Often utilized tall parts of the canopy. Frequently seen with mixed flocks but also occurs without those.
