Macropygia macassariensis

Identification

Smaller than Brown Cuckoo-Dove

Distribution

Found in south-western Sulawesi, Tanakeke and Salayar islands and easter Lesser Sundas, Indonesia.

Taxonomy

Formerly included in Dusky Cuckoo-Dove.

Subspecies

There are 2 subspecies[1]:

  • M. m. macassariensis:
  • South-western Sulawesi, Tanakeke and Salayar islands
  • M. m. longa:

Behaviour

A shy bird.
