Copsychus albospecularis

Identification

Black head and back, the wings are black with a white band across them, the belly is white. The female has a brown head, back and wings (except for a white band across the wings), belly is a light grey.

Distribution

Madagascar.

Taxonomy

3 subspecies are recognized[1]:

  • C. a. albospecularis:
  • C. a. inexspectatus:
  • C. a. pica (Pelzeln's Magpie-robin):
  • Northern, western, and southern Madagascar (Tsaranatana massif south to the Androy region)
