Identification

24 to 28 cm (9½-11 in)

  • Green plumage
  • Maroon belly patch
  • Yellow-green barred breast and front and sides of neck
  • Brownish ear patch
  • Black beak
  • Maroon undertail
  • The dark-tipped primaries are blue on outerwebs, green on innerwebs
