Peach-orange forehead, bluish border towards the crown. Orange eyering in adult, greyish in juvenile. Breast brown or greyish-brown.


South America: found in Suriname, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina.


This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly placed in genus Aratinga





The diet includes seeds, including crops of soya, maize, but also termites, moths and beetles.
