Identification

Distribution

Found in South America from Colombia to the Guianas, Brazil, northern Paraguay and northwest Argentina.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Formerly regarded as a subspecies of Ashy-tailed Swift which is now included in Vaux's Swift.

Habitat

Forested lowland rivers.
