Taxonomy
The third subspecies (occisinensis) was formerly recognized as a full species with the name of Alpine Leaf Warbler.
Subspecies
Clements recognize three subspecies[1]:
- P. a. perflavus breeds in the western Himalayas, winter range unknown
- P. a. affinis breeds in the eastern Himalayas, winters to Burma and Thailand
- P. a. occisinensis breeds in eastern Tibet and Sichuan and Gansu (China); winter range unknown but recorded in southern China (Yunnan) in non-breeding season.
