Turdus assimilis

Not to be confused with the White-throated Ground Thrush from Asia.

Identification

There is more white on the throat than what can be seen in the upper image, more is visible if the bird stretches its neck just a little.

From Mexico to Panama, Colombia and Ecuador.

Taxonomy

There are eleven subspecies that are recognized in this species. One of them, daguae is considered a distinct species by some authorities. This species has been lumped with White-necked Thrush in the past.
