Identification

12·5–13 cm (5 in)

  • Black (with bluish gloss) forehead crown and crest
  • White nuchal patch

Distribution

Montane forests of Taiwan.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly placed in the genus Parus.

Habitat

They breed in temperate broadleaf forests.

Behaviour

Diet

Not a lot of information is available about their diet, but they are known to eat invertebrates and larvae.
