Cyanoptila cumatilis

Identification

16–17 cm (6-6¾ in)

  • Blue upperparts head and throat
  • White underparts

Distribution

Breeds in central China (Shaanxi east to Beijing, and south to northwest Hubei); wintering range very poorly known, but recorded south to Malaysia

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Formerly included in Blue-and-white Flycatcher.

Habitat

Lowland and sub-montane forests; wooded slopes.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of beetles, moths, bees, larvae and other small invertebrates.

Movements

Migratory.
