Poking Fun at Ourselves... (6 Viewers)

I got two loo roll inner tubes, blackened the insides and glued them together, side by side and collimated them..

I was amazed: I reckon I got transmisson of 103.756%.

Translation for US visitors: Loo = toilet/washroom/rest room.

LOL. To get such a high errm, throughput, you must have used Andrex tubes which are the alphas of loo rolls. Other brands are available.

Lee,

I would never buy Andrex because of their advertising, Lidl is more to my choosing. If I save enough, I might get some EEC certified glass to fit inside, but I will leave out the prisms 'cos they just eat up the light.

I was able to find this picture of Martin (dabbling) back in the day, probably a lot of non-binocular induced CA was seen.

My state of unequivocal sobriety is tempered for work at this moment, but dabbling in psycho-active drugs in my youth, help me gain a good perspective on theoretical thinking, after all its only a theory, lol

You don't need glass. That's SO 'Alpha', and a bit élitist to boot. Try clingfilm at the objective ends, and red and blue transparent sweet wrappers for the oculars. It'll enhance the 3D view, and add to Martin's psychedelic effect. If you like, you can listen to Pink Floyd 'See Emily Play' and flash the lights on-and-off.

Fair enough Wandy. Don't watch broadcast tv so haven't seen Andrex ads for years. By, hey. what's a cardboard tube between friends?

The no-prism design is a bold step. Let us know how this works out.

Wow. Just tried this out man and its, like, totally out there. Got the biggest hit playing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, at the same time as Emily, and smoking a pipe while wearing a Deerstalker hat. The speed of flashing the lights on and off is critical though, too fast and you can't stop laughing, too slow and you can't breathe, just right and the world just seems, right-on and on and on and on....... mmmmmm.

I see each post in this thread has wholly confirmed all my notions regarding the path of degradation now not only expected, but demanded, of each and every BF thread. Good show!

I may have hit the lowest note with toilet paper reference, but that's good ... right? :t:

its the drugs that help with the Kaleidoscopic effect called Chromatic aberration by the bods, others just see it, as for rolling ball, keep off the French vodka, Amanita mascara in 9x def not the 7....

Speaking as something of a spectator in these matters, can I just say that this thread has really quite tickled me. All the contributors on the "conventional" threads are clearly very knowledgeable and passionate on your subjects but you've also shown that you have a great sense of humour and can be quite self-effacing. Thanks to St Elmo for starting the thread and all the contributors for running with the idea (however irreverent the thread has become) :t:

Cheers

The references to Pink Floyd and LSD make me think of the tragic plight of Syd Barrett, those who experimented and weren't adversely affected definitely have stories to tell, but any further experimentation would be ill advised. Now that I've thrown my usual monkeywrench into the thread, carry on. :-O
