    Predated bird leg ID

    This leg was found in NE Scotland under a tree where a Barn Owl regularly hangs out. I would guess that the bird was predated at night and I am thinking that it is probably a Snipe (or Jack Snipe) The middle toe is 2.75cm long.

    This is in a friend's pond 3 to 4 cm long, flat with strange mouth parts eating midge larva. It swims by undulating its body.

    Leatherback Turtle, Aberdeenshire

    A large Turtle probably Leatherback was seen heading slowly south off Crawton Bay south of Stonehaven at 12.50 this afternoon!
