    Adelboden April.

    Had a great time in Switzerland. Alpine Choughs were everywhere and Black Redstarts were seen around Adelboden and Snowfinch were often seen at Geils. The Highlight of the trip was a juvenile Lammergeier at Haanenmoos and an alpine ibex at Englistenalp.

    Thank you ever so much this has been most helpful. I leave on Friday for 10 days. The trip is mostly Skiing but I have alot of free time for wildlife photography and bird watching so I will post here how I get on for info for others visiting the area.

    Purple Sandpiper present at the sluice gate near Limbourne creek today, 2 Marsh Harrier and 2 merlin were also seen.

    This thread insipred me to get out birding today and I went to my Local patch with the mentality that I was going to find something good and I did find a good local bird in being a Stonechat which is a rare bird in the Chelmsford area. So I suppose if more and more people gat out birding more...

    A Stonechat was present on Baddow meads today, frequenting a berry bush near the two gas markers and the derelict sign on the other side of the river. A Kingfisher, Song Thrush, Female Kestrel and 2 Swallow were other Highlights.

    I would say 3 and 4 are Blackburnian Warblers. Not yet sure about 1 & 2.

    No, the meads doesnt normally attract waders when flooded. Early May this year the Meads flooded and despite extensive serching for waders over two days I only saw 1 lapwing fly over. However when the meads do flood they do look perfect for waders. Perhaps if the meads flooded during the autumn...

    Had a great morning at Rainham today, I wasnt planning on going but at 7 oclock rainham was the only reserve open. The Hightlights were a very obliging Kestrel and a fox and the Baillon's Crake showed well too.

    Hello all, I would love an Id on this young Bird that I found on the floor in the wooded area of marquenterre. I think its a Young Yellowhammer but I have no experience of young buntings, so I am not confident of this. Thanks Hadden

    Thanks Plodder, I will have another look soon. I went to Hanningfield today and saw quite a lot of birds. The highlights being an adult Yellow-legged Gull, Oystercatcher, Common Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, Red-crested Pochard, fox and a Well showing reed Warbler. Another Birder saw A Barn Owl...

    I did go down to Baddow Meads to day but I didnt see any Kingfishers. However further up the river I did see a brief falcon sp. that was probably a Peregrine.

    Another mipit or Tree pipit... Deer park, Wales

    Sorry for another Mipit, tree pipit Id thread. I saw this pipit in the Deer park reserve near Skomer and I wondered what it was. I thought at the time Tree pipit but upon reviewing my photos I am now not sure and I am starting to think that this is a Meadow pipit. Please could some one confirm...
