Odd indicator (1 Viewer)

When looking at the LCD monitor on the back of the camera, in the spot where the shutter speed should be indicated, I see a number (usually 1, 2, 4, or 8) instead of 1/250 or 1/60 or whatever. What the heck is THIS about and how do I get my shutter speeds back?

Jeff,
The light levels must be very low to be showing those shutter speeds. Maybe your f stop is too high up at the max. Try dropping it to it's widest (usually around f3 ). Neil.
