Waders - Panjin, Liaoning, China (1 Viewer)

The rice paddies from three days ago yielded another rare Spotted Redshank with two individuals today. One was still with the Black-Winged Stilt, but one was mixed with these waders. I only saw them when they were flushed by human activity on the other side of the rice paddy and they all then left the area.

About the size of Common Redshank, but no trailing white to wings and a squarer white rump patch. I managed to pull one very long distance shot that I didn't even notice at the time showing barring of tail as one landed. Green Sandpiper?

Not so much 'this late' as 'this early'; but failed breeders will be starting to head back south now - they don't linger if they don't have any chicks to look after.
