Great Grey owl Yosemite (1 Viewer)

Greetings,
I will be visiting Yosemite and surrounds (possibly Mono Lake and Mammoth) this or next week and will be looking in particular for Great Gray Owl. I noticed that nobody has reported Great Gray Owl in CA on e-bird this year.

Chevron Meadow seems like a place many people try for Great Gray Owl also Wawona Meadow seems a popular spot. Anyway if anyone has had success in or near Yosemite preferably recently please let me know.

Too late for you, but this beauty was hunting McGurk Meadow at 7.30am last week.

Mark, great spot and nice photo. I did get the other bird I was looking for at McGurk which was black backed woodpecker. The annoying thing was the day after I was there a pair of Great Grey owls were reported near Chevron Meadow - exactly where I spent the most time looking!

Bears were pretty active when I was there so got some nice views.

Maybe I will go back to Yosemite soon as it is such a beautiful place anyway.
