Think you’re right. White on the wing will discount Brown for starters. I’d already discounted another Brown Shrike photo in Pakistan from 2009 as Isabelline.

my thought too, primary patch, tertials and greater coverts exclude Brown anyway
This report from NW India last year is very interesting and does contain a paragraph about photos of ‘Brown’ Shrikes in the area being mis-identified.

Does indicate more sightings though of Brown Shrike getting close to Pakistan so a record in Pakistan, if the first, is therefore due

I seem to remember a probable a while back on this forum. Unfortunately there was only one image and not the best at that. Nice to see this finally clinched.

Lack of birdwatchers more than anything. As bird photography increases I daresay that records will proliferate of this species.
