Remote switch Questions for 30d (1 Viewer)

Does a wireless switch exist for the 30d? Or is the only option the standard n3 type canon switch? Does the switch make a difference using a sigma 170-500 maxxed out? Thank You.

There are several wireless shutter-release options for the 30D and none of the reliable ones are very cheap.

The top-end are probably Pocket Wizards - they can control flashes and trigger the shutter on the camera...but you need two and they are not cheap.

Canon do a wireless infra-red trigger, but it is nearly as expensive as 2 Pocket wizards and shorter range.

There are several RF options from China...very cheap and maybe cheerful. Look on ebay or B&H do the same thing by Dot Line Corp, although over-priced there.

You can also get a long extension cord for the N3 which works great, even if it is expensive.

The remote operation should work whatever lens you have on your camera.
