Hydrophobic coatings on Ultravid HD (1 Viewer)

Ingle, do you have a line on a second hand Ultravid HD? Which size and how much? If they are better than my pre HD as Robert says they are, I'd be interested for the right price. I have total confidence in Leica's optics, they are just too expensive.

Bingo! Where are they?

And to the ridiculous distraction of hydrophobic/hydrophillic...

Hydrophobic is correct. Hydrophobic Effect being most accurate regarding the context here.

Hydrophillic being just the opposite, attracting (bonding with) water.

Some of us need better dictionaries.

Yeah, I would have thought that´s correct. ´Cos "Francophile" means someone who likes the French, whereas "Francophobe" means the opposite. (Don´t comment, Tom!;)) Cute dog, Kevin. (Not as cute as mine, though....;))

Ahem. He's right next to you, to the left. Now that's a dog!
Yeah, but how can you not love this one? Back to topic, he´s not hydrophobic. Or rabid.;). And my supercilious belittling of water-repellent coatings is probably a thinly-disguised resentment at not being able to justify buying a pair of HD´s. I´ve never used them in the field, whereas you have.

Re your dog: Awwwwwwwwwwwwww! Woodja, woodja, woodja. Good boy!

(Mine was highly hydrophobic).

To Jack: 1994 - 2007. Good boy!

That is a fine looking dog Sancho! As was Jack (bless him), Robert.

I'm afraid however you are entering the big league!

Exhibit 'A', "Katy"

Now I'm guilty of going off-topic. Couldn't resist though ;^)

Oh... and I wouldn't trade her for a trainload of Ultravids! Hydrophobic, or not.
