Field Guide Repair? (1 Viewer)

My copy of the expensive and out-of-print "Birds of Wallacea" got wet on my trip to Sulawesi, and a bunch of pages are stuck together. Fortunately, it seems that most of them are salvageable (only the bottom edge is stuck). Is there a better way to separate the pages than pulling them apart by hand? I contacted a book repair shop, and they said that there was nothing they could do. I'll keep my field guide in a plastic bag on my next trip...

I carry my field guides in zip-lock plastic bags if I deem it probable they'll get wet. For the Wallacea guide I made annotated lists for each island which I used in the field to save lugging the book around in the forest. After months in Indonesia it still looks almost good as new!

Ben,
Given your location, Princeton University Libraries must have book conservators who might advise...
