    Such a treat

This must be one of the most attractive of the small passerines in Queensland, and I saw quite a few Eastern Yellow Robins whilst I was there.

    Growing attached

It seemed I kept coming across these pretty guys; Eastern Yellow Robins seem to be everywhere LOL. We'd set off early to explore Ravensbourne National Park, and our first stop was at Gus Beutels Lookout. Superb views from here... you could see for miles and miles!!! There were a few birds...

A ray of sunshine in the dim forest

We left the owl in peace and started on our return back to the camp site. We only saw one other bird in this area and that was this Eastern Yellow Robin - so easily spotted in the dim light, especially as he came out into the open LOL
  8. Enjoying himself

    Enjoying himself

This Eastern Yellow Robin was having a whale of a time. He kept jumping into the water, having a splash jumping out, shaking himself off, then back in again!!! It was a bit of a struggle to get a clear image of him really.
  9. Not related

    Not related

The Eastern Yellow Robin is not related at all to the European one, but you can see why they got the name. These are only found in Australia. After our lunch, we set off to explore further up the mountain, taking a dead end road up the Austinville Valley, which was a beautiful drive. I spotted...

    No clementine for me either!

First saw the robin beside the clementine, but he flew off without tasting it! Fuss-pots some birds, aren't they!

    My pretty little friend

The following day we were off on another drive to Ravensbourne National Park. Our first stop there was at Gus Beutels Lookout. There were a few birds about and try as I might struggled to get pictures, particularly of a Grey Shrike-Thrush!! However, this beautiful Eastern Yellow Robin decided...

    Bright

On our way back, this wee Yellow Robin was easy to spot in the dim rainforest, but boy did he give us the run-around. Every time Judy and I got locked onto him he was off to another tree... took us quite a few minutes to finally get just two pictures LOL So pretty that you can't help but...

    Yellow delight

This wee robin came in for a much wanted bath obviously, as he kept diving in. This was taken as he arrived, I may show you one later when he was, shall we say, rather wet. It was so lovely to see another one.... just a few days before I'd seen my first in the Austinville Valley

After we'd sorted ourselves out and had lunch, we drove up the rather lovely Austinville Valley. Wasn't long before my first Lifer of the day appeared in this beautiful Eastern Yellow Robin.

as I was exploring new wetlands area this guy came out to watch me. I suppose he is a member of "birdwatch watching society". He was kind enough to demonstrate both of his beautiful sides (ref. my second todays upload)
