A bird by a gravel pit making a call or song that sounds like:
d'dee dee - d'daa daa - d'doo doo - d'doh doh
Each part (e.g. d'dee dee) at about 1 second interval, so about 4 seconds in total. Subsequent part at a lower pitch than the one before, so starting high and ending lower.
The bird was in scrub by a gravel pit and then flew over the water (but out of sight) to a bush on the other side. I couldn't get any sight of it.
This call/song was repeated over and over, even after the bird had flown to the other side of the pit.
Any suggestions?
