a robin question? (1 Viewer)

I have a healthy Rhodadendron bush near my porch and I noticed some robins ( we have had at least 12 or so in our yard everyday) building a nest, I curiously watched and discovered they were building in my bush, but now they seem to have abandoned it, and I wondered if this was normal, they did not use the nest but it does look finished, however there is some dog activity around during the storms and I wondered if they just got scared off...Robins, while they seem to be plentiful, are a mystery and I love them dearly, were they just to close to the house for their comfort? please somebody give me some insight...I'm new at this and while I have always been a watcher, I have only just recently became a studyier(not a real word), but there habits have become a source of amazement and amusement....any help would be appreciated.....Rebecca Keith
