Benro Wild 1/2 Carbon Fibre Birding Kit - spec help/info please (1 Viewer)

Hiya

carbon fibre 2 kitTWD28CLBWH4
carbon fibre 1 kitTWD18CBWH4

After a bit of info about either of these tripod kits please if anyone has and is currently using one of them.
I have gotten all the specs I can find and read/seen all reviews and such I can find but have few questions I would like to find the answers too, basically in order to know if I will be able to use either this tripods with my current hide clamp.

1) I think the central column is fully removable but haven’t been able to confirm this. Is it?

2) measurements are available for the legs but i would like to know the diameter of the central column, of either the carbon 1 kit or carbon 2 kit central column? (perhaps they are slightly different due to leg length). not been able to find this anywhere.

3) the bottom of the central column has a little hook to add weights or also a blank end cover (from photos). are these removeable (screw off)? in order to slide the central column into the hide clamp.

My current hide clamp has reducer sleeves of 21/22mm, 23/24mm and 25/26mm diameter.
I have fired off these questions to a few stockists including Cley Spy but received no reply.

Thanks for any info or help

I have the aluminum version of the 18 wild. The 24mm aluminum center column is removable after unscrewing the bottom hook. I assume the CF version does the same. Hope this helps..

I bought a Benro TMA 37c from Harrison Cameras in Sheffield and needed a spare aluminium centre column to use with my hide clamp. I found Harrisons to be very good and have bought from them again. They might be able to help you. In the alternative, try

macgroup are the importer/distributor and, again, I have found them to be very helpful although it takes a day or 2 for them to reply.

On my Benro the centre column is fully removable and I have removed the carbon fibre column and replaced it with an aluminium one for use in a hide clamp without sleeves - I was concerned about the pin load a screw fastener on the hide clamp would have on carbon fibre.

thanks for your reply and info. i went for the Kit 1 and got decent deal on it. the column is 24m as stated above and it fits quite well into my clamp with the 25-26m reducer sleeve on it tightiest setting.
