Billed Cuckoo in Northern India? (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone,

This morning I saw what I believe was a channel billed cuckoo here in northern India (Amritsar, Punjab). But checking it’s migratory pattern, I found it doesn’t come to India at all.

The bird was very big, I haven’t seen a similar sized bird before. It had grey and black feather and a long patterned tail. A large slightly curved beak as well.

The only difference between the bird and the pictures of the Channel Billed Cuckoo I saw online was that instead of red colour around its eyes, it had a red eyeball surrounded by a similar grey/black colour as its body.

I unfortunately could not take a picture as it flew away. But I’m a 100% sure it was a cuckoo but not sure which subspecies. I could also hear the crows making a commotion.
